Kathmandu: Nepali Congress leader Gagan Kumar Thapa has arranged free education for six students from Sarlahi district, aiming to support children from economically disadvantaged families.

According to Thapa, students from Balara Municipality, Godaita Municipality and Dhankaul Rural Municipality will receive completely free education, including hostel facilities, in Lalitpur up to Grade 10.

Sharing the information through social media, Thapa said the initiative was taken to help children continue their studies despite financial hardships faced by many Dalit and low-income families.

He stated that although many children are capable and talented, poverty often forces them to discontinue their education, calling the situation a painful social reality.

Thapa, who is also a House of Representatives member from Sarlahi-4, expressed hope that the initiative would contribute, even in a small way, toward improving educational opportunities for underprivileged children.

He also thanked supporters and well-wishers who helped make the program possible and said similar efforts would continue in the future.
